This month we are welcoming: Marie Macklin, Founder of Macklin Enterprises Partnership, Siobhan Vernon of Austin Smith Lord Architects firm and Gill Henry, BDD of Hart Builders

Marie is a major stakeholder in The HALO Kilmarnock Ltd which is the regeneration of the site that formerly housed the Johnnie Walker bottling plant, which closed in 2012 with the loss of more than 500 jobs as production moved to modern lines in Glasgow and Fife.  The company leading the development includes Macklin Enterprise Partnerships, The Klin Group and Ross Developments & Renewables with “observers” on the board from East Ayrshire Council.  The Halo Kilmarnock claims the HALO project could create and/or up to 1,400 new jobs and support 630 construction jobs through the development phase.

Siobhan Vernon of ASL Architects will be sharing some of the details on their Scottish projects. The firm is a creative collective of design professionals with decades of experience and an impressive track record. From design concept to project completion they provide complete solutions which are informed by innovation, creativity and responsibility.

Gill Henry is Business Development Director of Hart Builders will be speaking about their support for Scotland’s first village for homesless people, as part of the campaign on this issue created by Josh Littlejohn. This village was created from vacant council owned land providing a beautiful pre-fabricated house design to create a bespoke community environment.
