Rachel started Mademoiselle Macaron after learning how to make the delicate French treat in Paris where she immersed herself in the cafe culture for a year during her degree. When she returned to Scotland she was dissatisfied with the macarons that were on offer in Scotland and decided to create her own brand using a professional French recipe as a base whilst delivering the products with a playful Scottish humour.

After a year of trading at local food markets, Rachel opened her first shop and cafe in May 2014 on Grindlay Street in Edinburgh’s City Centre – a part of Paris in Scotland.

Whisky is deeply ingrained in the Scottish tradition and every important milestone goes hand in hand with it. It doesn’t matter if it is a birth or a funeral; a graduation or a wedding; it all starts with a dram.

At Lady of the Glen they only buy premium whisky casks from distilleries which have either closed down or have produced a limited amount of a particular cask. As a result they sell some of the rarest Scottish malts and grains on the market. Furthermore every bottle is a part of a limited edition. Their Whisky is always Single Cask, non-chill filtered and bottled at Cask Strength.

When you purchase a bottle of Lady of the Glen you can rest assured that it is Whisky of the highest quality, class and sophistication.
